Care Groups give students added college connection

7 April 2020

Deputy Principal Maria Leslie has worked with staff to introduce a new initiative that will provide students with additional support during these challenging times.

The establishment of Care Groups, headed by Canning staff, will provide all students with a direct point of contact should they require advice or reassurance with any matter related to their education.

Support provided by Care Group leaders will continue through the school holidays.

Students have been sent information regarding this initiative and should use the Connect online system should they require assistance.

Ten Care Group classes have been created for students with the leader of each likely to be known to students.

Care Group leaders will contact students each week, including during holidays, to ensure they are safe and well and have access to any assistance they require.

Students can contact Care Group leaders at any time by using the Connect system.

Further instructions are available to students through the Canning College Student Portal.

The Canning College Student Services centre will remain open during normal hours throughout the school holidays.
