Computing Centre

A state-of-the-art facility available to all students.

The very impressive Computing Centre is probably the largest and most modern school computing facility in Western Australia. The centre opened in January 2005 and has a total of 150 computers located in 7 computing laboratories. A further 20 computers are located in the online access area which is for use by students between classes.

Group work and tutorial sessions are conducted in the two seminar rooms.

Each lab is equipped with a multi-media projector so that lecturers can easily demonstrate concepts. Speakers and a DVD/VCR player enable the viewing of multi-media. All rooms have reverse cycle air-conditioning. The computers have Pentium IV or Core 2 Duo processors and 17" LCD monitors and are equipped with software such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Visual Basic and Movie Maker.

The computers have front USB ports to enable students to use flash drives for the storage of work, and firewire ports to allow the connection of digital video cameras. Students enjoy the high-speed Internet connectivity which provides lightning fast access to the web. A wide range of online learning resources have been developed by staff for students to use both on and off campus.
