Celebrating student success

Presentation the place to celebrate student success

Canning College celebrated the achievements of more than 100 students during an entertaining Presentation Evening at The Hub last week.
We were delighted to have several parents in attendance, including some who had flown in from other parts of the world.
Graduating students from the WA Universities’ Foundation Program, WA Certificate of Education, Diploma of Commerce and Certificate IV in University Access Program received completion certificates in acknowledgement of their academic efforts.

The graduating students were drawn from 17 countries, including the first Australian graduates since 2018.
Special guest speaker the Hon. Hannah Beazley, MLA, who is the Parliamentary Member for Victoria Park, spoke warmly of the student achievements.

There were powerful valedictory speeches from Usman (Pakistan) and Clive (Singapore), and great performances from Audrey (China) and Marco (Indonesia).

The top WA Universities’ Foundation Program student was Christian Lim, from Singapore, who also won the Chemistry Award, as well as the English Language and Australian Cultural Studies (ELACS) Award.

The Principal’s Commendation was shared between Koh Wei Lin (Malaysia) and Katelynn Ho (Singapore).

Denies Yong Jun Yuan (Malaysia) was the top Diploma of Commerce student, while Sherry Wong Jin Ru (Malaysia) was the winner of the top award for the Certificate IV in University Access Program.

Attendees also heard great speeches from Curtin University’s Hannah Carson, and Michelle Teasdale from The University of Western Australia.
