CHOOSE Canning College
INSPIRED TO LEARN
Choose a new study experience
Canning College combines expert teaching with an informal campus atmosphere that helps students achieve their university-entry goals.
Staff focus on assisting students in making the most of their senior secondary education, whether they are seeking an ATAR boost, a second chance or a whole new approach to learning on their pathway to university.
Starting with Year 10, Canning College programs include Year 11 and Year 12 WACE ATAR and a WACE General University Pathway.
With a significant international population, students develop cross-cultural understanding and global awareness.
Students who speak English as a second or other language can enrol in an intensive English program that prepares them to transition into a standard academic program, such as Year 10, 11 or 12.
As an Independent Public School with no defined boundary, domestic students from across Perth can apply to enrol in our programs and enjoy the unique learning environment – there is no College uniform and students engage with teachers and staff on a first-name basis.
The contributions and charges for domestic students are the same as they would expect at other government schools.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CANNING COLLEGE
Canning College’s expert teachers, experienced support staff and inclusive, multicultural campus make it easy for you to focus on studies. A relaxed atmosphere, which nourishes personal growth and nurtures new friendships, is underpinned by high academic standards.
Our commitment extends beyond the classroom with a focus on preparing you to become an independent, capable student, who is equipped to thrive at university. We aim to assist all students in becoming accomplished academic learners, who are self-managers, critical thinkers and strong communicators.
You won’t be asked to wear a uniform, but you will be expected to contribute positively to the College’s international education community, which is accepting, tolerant and understanding of others.
You will start to form habits that are necessary to succeed at university level by managing your own time, ensuring you meet deadlines, attend classes and keep appointments.
You will speak to teachers on a first-name basis, and you will feel valued and respected as an important member of the College community.
You will be offered a flexible timetable that allows for longer personal study sessions in the Learning Centre, Library or Student Lounge. Or you might use some of that time to unwind in the Recreation Centre, where students engage in casual games of basketball, badminton and table tennis, or grab a bite to eat at Chomp Chomp, our on-campus international food service.
WHEREVER YOU LIVE, MAKE CANNING COLLEGE YOUR STUDY DESTINATION
Unlike most WA State Government schools, you can apply to enrol at Canning College wherever you live.
We do not have a local intake area, boundary or catchment, which means you can join us regardless of the suburb you call home. We’re right next to Curtin University, just a short walk from the Curtin Bus Station, which is only 10 minutes from Canning Bridge Train Station.
Don’t forget that the cost to local students of studying at Canning College, is the same as the fees and contributions charged by other local schools.
Our aim to assist every student in achieving their goal of university entry, perfectly matches the ambitions of those we enrol.
