YEAR 10 – A PATHWAY TO UNIVERSITY

Year 10 is an important step towards senior secondary study and future pathways. At Canning College, students learn in a calm and focused environment that supports consistent progress from the outset.

Teachers provide guidance while encouraging students to take increasing responsibility for their work.

Students attend from across Perth, as the College is not restricted by a local intake area. The College also attracts international students from more than 30 countries whose presence adds significantly to the multicultural atmosphere of the College.

The environment is more mature than a traditional school setting. There are no uniforms, and students address teachers by their first name, which supports independence and accountability.

Timetables often include gaps during the day, allowing time for independent study, revision or short breaks. This helps students manage their workload and build effective habits early. Together, these elements support strong academic development and prepare students for Years 11 and 12.
