Whatever degree course is in your sights, Canning College can help you hit the mark with a range of programs, high levels of academic and personal support and a unique learning environment that is a proven success.
The College has been teaching local and international students for more than 40 years, helping thousands of people from around the world achieve academic goals that have taken them into university and improved their career prospects. Canning College does not have a school catchment area, which means domestic students from anywhere in Perth can apply to enrol.
Canning College offers:
- High-performing students the opportunity to boost, or top up, their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) by tackling specific subjects after completing Year 12
- Year 11 and Year 12 WA Certificate of Education (ATAR) programs that focus on STEM subjects to provide entry into a broad range of degree programs in WA universities
- Year 10 studies that inspire learning and challenge students to expand the boundaries of their personal comfort zones
- A WACE General University Pathway that is coupled with Curtin University’s UniReady program to maximise learning and improve tertiary preparation
- A six-month, business-focused Certificate IV in University Access Program equivalent to achieving 70 ATAR
- Diploma of Commerce that provides entry into year two of Bachelor of Commerce/Business programs at The University of Western Australia and Curtin University
As an Independent Public School, local/domestic students (and those on visas that entitle them to local enrolment) pay the same as they would to study at other WA State Government schools.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CANNING COLLEGE
Canning College’s expert teachers, experienced support staff and inclusive, multicultural campus make it easy for you to focus on studies. A relaxed atmosphere, which nourishes personal growth and nurtures new friendships, is underpinned by high academic standards.
Our commitment extends beyond the classroom with a focus on preparing you to become an independent, capable student, who is equipped to thrive at university. We aim to assist all students in becoming accomplished academic learners, who are self-managers, critical thinkers and strong communicators.
You won’t be asked to wear a uniform, but you will be expected to contribute positively to the College’s international education community, which is accepting, tolerant and understanding of others.
You will start to form habits that are necessary to succeed at university level by managing your own time, ensuring you meet deadlines, attend classes and keep appointments.
You will speak to teachers on a first-name basis, and you will feel valued and respected as an important member of the College community.
You will be offered a flexible timetable that allows for longer personal study sessions in the Learning Centre, Library or Student Lounge. Or you might use some of that time to unwind in the Recreation Centre, where students engage in casual games of basketball, badminton and table tennis, or grab a bite to eat at Chomp Chomp, our on-campus international food service.
WHEREVER YOU LIVE, MAKE CANNING COLLEGE YOUR STUDY DESTINATION
Unlike most WA State Government schools, you can apply to enrol at Canning College wherever you live.
We do not have a local intake area, boundary or catchment, which means you can join us regardless of the suburb you call home. We’re right next to Curtin University, just a short walk from the Curtin Bus Station, which is only 10 minutes from Canning Bridge Train Station.
Don’t forget that the cost to local students of studying at Canning College, is the same as the fees and contributions charged by other local schools.
Our aim to assist every student in achieving their goal of university entry, perfectly matches the ambitions of those we enrol.
