Get more from WACE

Whether you are looking to complete the WACE, or you didn’t get the ATAR score you were hoping for previously, Canning College can get you on track for university entry.

If you’re motivated to get more from the WA Certificate of Education, we can help you enjoy your studies and strive towards university entry.

Now open to local/domestic students as well as internationals, Canning College is perfect for students who want to work towards achieving WACE ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) in a university-style environment.

As an Independent Public School, the fees for local students align with the requirements of the Department of Education, which means you’ll pay around the same as you would at other WA State Government schools.

We don’t have a local intake boundary, which means students from across the metropolitan area can take advantage of our unique learning experience.

Casual campus, serious study

Studying at Canning College is different to many schools in how our expert teachers and caring support staff interact with our students, who are treated as valued members of our College community.

Students aren’t asked to wear uniforms and there are no bells or sirens to tell them when it’s time to move on to their next lesson or to have lunch.

Instead, Canning College students, like those already in universities, are expected to manage their own time – perhaps with the occasional reminder from our experienced educators – and understand their responsibilities to be respectful of their peers and staff.

Our students refer to our teachers and other staff members by their first names, just as tertiary students converse with lecturers and tutors.

More from WACE

Our casual social approach and welcoming campus lifestyle is complemented by rigour in our teaching that prepares students academically to achieve their university-entry goals.

Local/domestic students can use their WACE ATAR to enter Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, the University of Notre Dame Australia and The University of Western Australia.

If you performed well in Year 11 but feel a change of environment can push you towards even higher standards, or if you weren’t able to achieve your potential in Year 12 and you want to try again, our environment may help you achieve your goals.

Canning College also offers Year 10 and Year 11 studies that prepare students for the completion of WACE ATAR.

Alternative pathways to university

If you are seeking an express pathway into university, our fee-free Certificate IV in University Access Program is completed in just six months. Successful completion is the equivalent of a 70 ATAR and provides entry into many courses at Curtin University and Murdoch University.

If business is your thing, Canning College offers a Diploma of Commerce that is equivalent to first-year Bachelor of Commerce degree programs at The University of Western Australia and Curtin University.

Choose Canning College as your pathway into leading universities.
